Aladdin New Materials: a 30-year-experienced ceramic fiber manufacturer. With 4 facilities in China, it has 100,000-ton annual capacity. Products for 100-1600°C high temperatures, offering full independent production from raw materials to finished goods.

Product Description

Using any type of ceramic fiber blanket as the base material, secondary cladding is applied by wrapping it with aluminum foil.

Product features

1. Enhanced Thermal Insulation Performance

Reflection of Radiant Heat: Aluminum foil has an extremely low surface emissivity (high reflectivity). In high-temperature environments, among the three modes of heat transfer (conduction, convection, and radiation), radiation is the primary mode. The aluminum foil layer can reflect the vast majority of radiant heat back to the heat source or the interior of the insulation layer, significantly reducing heat loss through radiation.

Creation of a "Heat Shield" Effect: The combination of aluminum foil and fiber blanket effectively adds a highly efficient radiation barrier to the insulation system, significantly increasing the overall thermal resistance and thereby improving the insulation performance.

2. Compliance with Class A1 Non-Combustible Material Standards

Effectively meets fire resistance requirements, making it an ideal material for constructing fire barriers and passive fire protection systems.

3. Excellent Moisture and Water Resistance

Barrier Against Moisture Vapor: Ceramic fiber blankets, being fibrous materials, are somewhat hygroscopic. Once moistened, their insulation performance drops sharply, and the drying process is slow. The aluminum foil acts as a dense barrier, effectively preventing external water vapor and humidity from penetrating the fiber blanket, thereby maintaining its dryness and efficient insulation capacity.

Protection Against Liquid Ingress: In industrial environments, splashes of water, oil, or other liquids may occur. The aluminum foil layer provides temporary waterproofing, protecting the inner fiber blanket from becoming saturated and losing its effectiveness.

4. Improved Durability and Mechanical Protection

Resistance to Wind Erosion and Airflow Scouring: On pipelines or equipment exteriors, especially in environments with airflow, exposed fiber blanket surfaces are prone to fiber dispersal and wear. The aluminum foil layer provides a sturdy shell for the soft fiber blanket, effectively resisting wind erosion and airflow scouring, thereby extending its service life.

Withstanding Minor Impacts and Abrasion: Compared to the soft fiber blanket, aluminum foil can better withstand minor physical impacts and friction, preventing damage to the insulation layer.

5. Aesthetics, Cleanliness, and Safety

Neat Appearance: The smooth and bright surface of the aluminum foil gives the entire insulation system a cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing look, complying with modern industrial management standards.

Easy to Clean: The smooth aluminum foil surface is less likely to accumulate dust and can be easily wiped clean if soiled.

Prevention of Fiber Shedding: Fine fibers from the ceramic fiber blanket may become airborne during installation or maintenance, posing health risks if inhaled. The aluminum foil layer fully encapsulates these fibers, preventing their release, thus improving the working environment and safeguarding personnel health.

6. Convenient Installation

Self-Contained System: Many products come with aluminum foil pre-laminated onto the fiber blanket, forming an integrated insulation material. This eliminates the need for separate foil installation during application, saving time and labor while ensuring sealing integrity.

Ease of Fixation: The aluminum foil surface is more suitable for sealing and fixing with aluminum foil tape, allowing for the creation of a complete air-tight layer with convenient and reliable construction.

Application Scenarios

Wrapping ceramic fiber blankets with aluminum foil essentially combines a highly efficient radiant heat reflector (aluminum foil) with an excellent insulating layer (fiber blanket), achieving a synergistic insulation effect where 1+1 > 2.
